It is a member of the Aplysiidae family.
They are variable in colour from a yellowish brown to black with lighter spots across the entire body. The rhinophores are smaller with the eyes located in front of them. The rhinophores are small with the eyes located in front.
The posterior of the foot acts like a sucker enabling to adhere to the substrate.
Unlike other sea hares it does not secrete purple ink. Instead it produces a milky white secretion.
