Elysia sp. SC3

Elysia is a member of the family Plakobranchidae along with Thuridilla and Plakobranchus. Plakobranchids feed primarily on green algae, but also diatoms. They have a pair of elongate parapodia and do not possess cerata.

Elysia sp. SC3 is an undescribed species found in Queensland, Australia. It is green with small yellow spots; elongated papillae on its body; the rhinophore tips and its head and lighter green in colour.

I have encountered them in the Mooloolah River, La Balsa Park, Sunshine Coast at depths of 4-7m and around 20mm-40mm in size.
