Whites Seahorse (Hippocampus whitei)

Endemic to Australia from Queensland down to New South Wales. They feed on small crustaceans and passing zooplankton. Commonly seen at Chowder Bay, Sydney under the pier they curl their tails around sponges, substrate and often seen on the shark nets. The males carry the eggs in a brood pouch. The gestation period is around 3 weeks when up to 150 young are born.
